When you want to really start to make some good money from your blogging, you need to develop a strong content generation plan. Why is this? You will need to have a strong, robust and growing content base to attract readers and keep them happy. I will cover three key points to help point you in the right direction:

1. Tell some good stories — People love to read stories. They are very easy to read and internalize. When you have stories where you can share how you solved a problem or issue that your readers are interested in, you are going to hit a home run. Many of your readers will come to your blog to learn how to solve a problem. When you can tell them how to do it in a very interesting way, you will have happy readers. Happy readers become repeat readers and your blog following will grow. You always want to think of things that will bring your reader back to your blog.

2. Cover some good introductory topics – You do not have to get real in depth with the topics you are covering. This is particularly true when you are just starting your blog out. There are many people out on the Internet that have very basic questions and needs. Once you find the “sweet spot” of where your average reader is, you can adjust your material and focus accordingly. Until you start to get some feedback from your readers, I strongly recommend that you start and stay with pretty basic information in your niche. Getting your blog off to a great start is very easy to do when you keep things nice and simple.

3. Build on previous material — The material you present should follow some type of natural progression. This will help “train” your readers on what they can expect on your blog. Following a progression can also allow you to build up some anticipation for upcoming material and posts. It is always a great idea to take a big concept and break it down into a number of sequential posts in a small series. This will keep your posts at a manageable and readable size, and will “program” your readers on what to expect next. When you are running a series of posts, it is a good idea to post them on the same day of the week for consistency sake. This will also help your repeat traffic from your regular visitors.

I hope you can see that simple tactics with your content can really help your reader learn to like your blog and your style. Once you have a steady stream of satisfied readers, you will be well on your way to making money from your blogging.

To get real Infobarrel success though, and make some good money, we need to think about the amount of content. We will never earn good money if all that we do is simply write the odd article. We need to be thinking more like a hundred or so articles to really make some serious money.

Why You Will Be A Miserable Failure at Make Money Blogging

The make money online industry offers hope to people who want to make money from the comforts of their own home. They make it seem like anyone can do it and in truth, they can. However, they need to follow the right principles. The sad thing I see is that too many well intentioned “artist types” feel that they can convert their creativity online to make a living blogging. In a politically correct blogging world where there’s a lot of back patting and keep at it encouragements, let me be the bearer of bad news and say you’ll be a miserable failure if you keep this up and not change from the blogging mentality to an internet marketing mentality.

The arts community struggles in the real life world with getting donations and grants but you think you can make a living online where people are known for wanting things for free. Do you think your words of blogging wisdom will compel them to buy your latest ebook or whatever else you are peddling? Oh wait, so you’re giving away your ebook for free hoping that they will buy something from your affiliates. The same principle applies. The blogging community is notorious for harboring cheap bastards. And even if you manage to pick their pockets one time or another, how often can you churn those ebooks out until the well runs dry. And then you’ll have to find some other clueless artistic types to leach off from. Have some sense. Few artists can make a living in the real world and even fewer can make a living online blogging as well.

The only way you will make money online is if you ditch the blogging gig and come up with a viable online business idea that will fulfill customers’ needs to buy a service or a product. This is what internet marketing is all about. You don’t have to convince them to buy because there is already a built in interest. Oh, there will a lot of screeching from the liberal type that of “but I’m an artist”, “I want to be creative”, “I don’t want to sell out”, “I don’t want to promote crap”. For this I answer you don’t have to put anything on your niche web sites that you’re not proud of. Ethics, values and internet marketing are not mutually exclusive.

But if you want to be the struggling artist type even online, then so be it.
