Google is waging a war on junk links, this has been going on for sometime and they are getting better and better at it, and so there are major SEO changes that went on this year that in turn created a whole new set of link building strategies (courtesy of JR’s Internet Marketing blog) for long term and solid rankings today and beyond.

The main job of SEO is getting links to websites, which are viewed as votes for authority and quality content for those websites, this information is used by Google to determine the rankings of said websites for particular keywords. All of this starts with the content on a website, because in reality it is difficult to get natural quality links when the content on the site is junk. Many webmasters believe that they can slap up a site without paying much attention as to the quality of their content and then go out get a bunch of crappy links and rank for various key terms. Yes, this used to work, get 500 directory links, 1000 article site links and bam, there is your site on page 1.

Well, those days are over, and today it really takes a lot more than that to rank a site long term, these days you have to actually DESERVE the rankings. Maybe the spammers ruined those “easy links” for us, or maybe it is as it should be, because in reality, when you get manual crappy links it’s implied that your content is not worthy of those high quality freely given links, and believe me, Google’s algorithm is designed to know the difference. It is also designed to do a pretty good job of deciphering manual links vs natural links.

Today, more than ever, Google is looking to quality relevant content in their search results. This is illustrated by the recent Panda update, which slapped many of the so called “content farms” on the web, including Ezine Articles, previously considered to be one of the premier article marketing websites. you can go over to Webmaster World forms and read thousands of threads of people getting hit with various penalties, one of which is the -50 penalty that freezes all the pages of a site on Pg 5 of Google, for months, sometimes years. This penalty has been attributed to link profiles, and empirical data shows that spammy link profiles are always a part of the sites that have been penalized in this way.

Links To Avoid
There are many novice webmasters that still chase useless and harmful links, believing that it will get them long term strong rankings, and instead wind up in the Google black hole or worse penalized and lacking any kind of traffic that matters.

Profile Links – Angela’s Links, Paul’s Links, Sick Submitter, etc…all useless and you should never use them to link directly to your money sites.

Directories - Low quality crappy directories are a useless waste of time and most of them are considered spam sites.

Article Marketing in Mass Amounts – Forget using article submission software, most of those article sites are spammy content farms, useless for rankings, especially for new sites.

Link Pages – This is one of the worst things you can do for your site, an obvious link scheme full of reciprocal links with the goal of gaming search engines, BAD NEWS!!

Unnatural link profiles, including, using the same anchor text over and over, creating tons of links at once, using link wheels, content farms, excessive interlinking within sites on the same IP addresses.

Are you one of the thousands of people who are looking to supplement their income by making money online? Maybe you are looking for an online opportunity that has the ability to totally replace your current job. Whether you want to make a little additional income or enough money to provide a comfortable living, you may want to look into online niche marketing.

There are tons of internet money making opportunities out there, and the list grows daily. You have affiliate programs, multi-level marketing programs, investment programs, pay for offers programs, etc. The list goes on. Some of them offer the promise of a quick fortune; some of them offer sustained income. The technique that I most often recommend is niche marketing.

Niche marketing is a very simple concept: you find a niche, develop a website around that niche, get people to visit your niche site, and find a way to collect money from those people. Seems pretty simple, but with many seemingly simple concepts, there are things that work and things that don’t. One niche marketing technique that does work is called “article marketing”.

Article marketing is the practice of writing articles and using those articles to drive traffic to your niche sites. That traffic is then converted to income by means of direct sales, affiliate sales, or advertising revenues. I personally use a combination of affiliate sales and ad revenues. These concepts can be a little tough to grasp for a new niche marketer, but I’ll post some resources at the end of the article that can help you. Here’s how it works (in a nutshell).

Find a Niche – Finding a niche can be difficult for a beginner. I recommend starting with something that interests you and researching the marketability of that niche. A good tool is the Google Adwords tool. You can use that tool to gauge how many people search for keywords related to that niche. They can also give you an idea of how much money people pay to advertise those keywords.

Get Your Keywords – Decide on a main keyword related to your niche, as well as some secondary keywords.

Start a Blog – Start a blog around your niche and write articles that target your keywords. Post these articles to your blog.

Get Traffic to Your Blog – This can be the hard part. You will want to find ways to get other sites to link to your blog. The two easiest ways to do that are by submitting articles to article directories and asking other blogs for link trades.

Set Up Adsense – Adsense is free. You set up an account with Google. You agree to post their ads on your site, and they agree to pay you when people click on those adds.

Set Up Affiliate Accounts – Another great way to earn income from your niche site is to set up affiliate accounts with vendors that offer products that relate to your niche. People go to your site, looking for information about your niche, they see an affiliate ad for a product that they are looking for, they buy that product, and you get a commission.

The great part about this type of niche marketing is that they are inexpensive to get going, easy to maintain, and offer long lasting, residual income. The money doesn’t start flowing in from the first day, and it takes some work to get started, but that is true with any business. If you do it right, you will get back what you put in.

To help save you a lot of time and frustration, I have listed the resources that I use to do my niche marketing. Using these tools will be a huge help to you in ensuring your success:

Sign up as an Amazon Affiliate – Amazon.com has a great affiliate program that will allow you to advertise their products to your visitors.

Go to the Keyword Academy – The keyword academy will walk you through the entire process of keyword research, starting your blog, monetizing it, etc. The info is extensive and easy to follow. They do charge a small monthly fee for their service, but it is worth every penny.

Be a Keyword Academy Affiliate – Webmasters Earn Money Here!

Check out Unique Article Wizard – They will help you to get unique versions of your articles out to hundreds of article sites. I could not imagine doing article marketing without this service.

www.GoDaddy.com – Domain names and hosting. Very inexpensive and great customer support.

Article marketing is a good way to generate links to your blog or website. Generating links drives traffic to your site and also improves your rating with Google, helping you to move up the search engine rankings. The higher you get in the search engines, the more traffic you will be likely to get from Google.

When writing your articles, it is best to make use of your targeted keywords. Try to include your niche topic keywords in the title and throughout your article so you will be easily found for those particular keywords. Long tail keywords are more likely to be found than shorter keywords. For example you are not going to be found using the term ‘loans’ because it is a very competitive keyword and there are likely to be thousands of higher ranking articles and sites for that keyword. However the more specific you can be the more likely you are to be found. Using ‘self employed unsecured personal loan’ is far more specific and more likely to be found than just using the term ‘loan’.

Once you have written an article on your chosen niche topic you can submit it to various articles sites such as ezinearticles.com , goarticles.com or usfreeads.com. These sites allow you to place your articles with them together with a link to your site or blog. They are then picked up by the search engines and drive traffic to your website, blog or hub.

The more links you can generate to your site, the further up the Google rankings your site will appear since Google likes incoming links and uses this as a marker to establish how good your site may be. It is better to have several links from various sites than to have links from only one source however.

The other thing Google likes when trying to bring your blog higher in the search engine list is regularly updated content. Keeping a site updated with new articles and blogs is another good way to establish yourself on the internet.

You can use social networking sites to drive traffic to your site, however, targeted traffic from Google is much much better. The reason is that visitors coming from your article writing are interested in your subject area and are much more likely to either buy an affiliate product or click on one of your adverts. Traffic generated from social networking sites tends to be more general traffic will less or no interest in your subject. They are far less likely to want to click on a related topic advert or buy a related product.

For a writer, article marketing is often times not an easy or enjoyable task. Such a necessary chore comes with many considerations. There are not only a variety of avenues to advertise the article, but there are also specific demands of the market that should be examined thoroughly.

I will list and discuss many of the considerations that must be looked at by authors hoping to gain publication. It is my hope that this detailed discussion will assist the reader in determining his or her best route for success.

The Demand of the Market: In order to create something that people desire, you need to be mindful of what is going on in contemporary society. This can guide your choices on what to write about. Choosing a topic that is specialized for a niche audience is also appropriate.

The Internet: The use of blogs and social networking sites provide the resources to market articles. Additionally, using mass email is another way to bring a creation to many people. The internet allows people to communicate with a large volume of potential readers. It is also important to add your links to major search engines. Increase your chances for success by having your friends post your links to their own sites.

Sending Out Samples: Using a writing sample as advertising is one valuable approach to marketing. In fact sending a sample or an entire piece to a publisher is an old fashioned and well-respected technique. Using a directory of publishers which are put out yearly, you can begin sending your work out for consideration.

The Credentials of an Author: With the proper credentials either in education or with previous successes in the field of writing, an author can get his or her articles looked at with some seriousness. In this sense, having some accomplishments can lead to even more success.

Your Own Publication: By creating your own newsletter or journal, you can publish your own articles. This can give you an excellent way to create a catalog of published material.

Guerrilla Tactics: Perhaps using spam, fliers, or graffiti art can create notoriety for your own journal or online site. Illegal activity is not recommended for the faint of heart. Promote your journals or anthologies of articles at social events that are attended by your desired audience.

It should be clear now to the reader that there are many options available for those looking into article marketing. Hopefully authors will consider not only marketing options, but the market as well. The aforementioned tips should serve to guide authors through the process of determining the best option available.

To find the latest knowledge on article marketing, you can check out many websites that have the knowledge you need. Also, in order to get a good marketing business going, you should know about niche marketing.

Niche marketing is a very important component of online business. Not only does it hold the ability to gauge how much you will grow, but it also holds the key to how many sales you will make. All of this makes it a good idea to take several different factors into consideration.

You should always do your own research. How well you understand your niche is a very important part of niche marketing. Focus your efforts on just one area where there is demand. Try to find a niche that really needs information, products and maybe even services. Your products do not have to be new to the market, but there does need to be some type of a demand for them. Without that, how are you going to sell anything?

Take it one niche at a time. Many internet marketers try to spread themselves out into a bunch of different areas at once. If you get involved in more than one at a time you are probably going to hurt your business. You can go into 2 or even 3 after you have fully established yourself in the first niche.

Does your target audience have a good reason to buy from you and not someone else? If you want traffic you will need to provide potential customers and other site visitors a good enough reason to come to your site instead of someone else?s.

Show your visitors you have that you have a real understanding of what they need, then provide them proof that you are the one to serve them with the best information and high quality products and services. If they don’t think you are the best one to meet their demands they are going to take their business somewhere else.

Be sure you understand the language of your niche. This means you should not only have the ability to speak as your audience does, but also have a site that shows the same thing. If you have chosen some type of social networking niche, the design and layout of your site should show that easily. A sit for cat owners that has a dog design is probably not going to yield very much business, now is it?

Always create high quality products, services and information. Since just about all niche markets have a demand, they also need a lot of products, services and information to fulfill that demand. For example, if you are going with a dog owners niche you can provide information about shelters, pet sitters and even vets. Things like food, collars, toys and flea spray can be used as products. And if you want services as well, you could go with things like dog walking and dog sitting. Don’t just use the obvious things, dig deep and find the things that are related to your niche, or there just isn’t a lot being offered to the audience.

The authoring and submitting of articles has of late been very prevalent as a website marketing method. If done properly, this activity can be a highly efficacious way to generate back-links to your site(s).

You don’t have to spend a lot of money, but you will have to spend a great deal of time writing up and submitting your articles to the multitude of accessible article directories and e-zine lists. A good piece of this burden can be relieved if you use an article marketing submission tool, which can be had, gratis or for a fee, from online sources.

Write an article with a high degree of quality in mind, and use all the knowledge you have accumulated about search engine optimization strategies to come up with a set of keywords that will effectively represent your particular bailiwick — and don’t forget that you want your article to be viewed as a rich resource for other authors. Once you have the article edited to your satisfaction, then insert the text into your article marketing tool, and launch it away

The Problem: When you send the same exact content to every article directory, you are promulgating hundreds, perhaps thousands of duplicate documents. Which is fine, until the major search engines process through them and begin to generate back links. They are engineered to detect duplications and to not create links beyond the first occurance of a particular packet of text. So you will likely end up with just one back link for your article and very frustrated.

Is there a solution for this? Yes, although it may not be the most attractive of solutions. Keep up the submissions but submit only one time for each unique article you write. This eliminates the duplication, and assures that you will get your back link for the article. It will take a long time, but eventually, if you submit at least one unique article per week, you will end up with a ton of back links to your website.

Now the enthusiasm kicks in! You can hardly wait to sit down to the computer keyboard and develop those articles that are going to bring the paying customers through your online site. Well, we hate to dampen your enthusiasm, but don’t expect to see that increase of traffic immediately or very soon. Perhaps you are not new to this approach, and in fact have had some great success with it in the past. But then the traffic levelled off, and then began to recede. The playing rules of Internet usage are in constant flux, so don’t be too surprised if something that worked a couple of years ago, doesn’t work today. And that most certainly includes such things as traffic-attraction schemes.

Bring in more traffic than you have ever seen with article submission. Use our world class tool to blast your article all over the internet.
