It seems like when someone starts to think about starting a business on the internet they either decide on a bookstore website or the potential business owner assumes they must have some unique online business opportunity that nobody else has ever heard of. Really neither of these methods will result in very good results. First, there are more bookstores on the web than you could ever possibly count and, on top of that, the number one book marketer (Amazon) is a monster you do not want to compete against. Second, building a unique market never works well for the pioneers in the field. Usually what happens is the person with the original idea tries it, fails because people aren’t ready for this new business model, then when the next person comes along the market is already knowledgeable so he or she finds success.

If you are just starting out in internet marketing then I suggest you try something that is tried and true. For example, there are been literally millions of dollars earned over the years with MFA sites. MFA stands for made for adsense. The idea behind this business model is basically selling advertising on the web site, only it is Google ads you are selling and you only get paid when someone clicks on the ad. It is better than it sounds because you will generally see anywhere from 5% to 35% of the people who come to your site will click on an ad and you will get paid.

Another online business opportunity that has made great incomes for thousands of people is affiliate marketing. This model also involves a website but your focus is a little different. Instead of getting people to your site so they will click on an add, you want them to become interested in the product you are selling. You are considered an affiliate because the company pays you a commission for every sale you make. There are affiliate programs for almost everything you can think of. Usually the product company will provide you with a squeeze page, this is the page on your site that your visitor reads and hopefully interests them in the product you are pedaling.

These are just two of the endless business opportunities on the web.

A lot of people try to make money online, and the sad truth is that many of those people fail. Thankfully, I have managed to support my family through my internet marketing efforts, and a lot of my success comes from the place where I first heard about affiliate marketing, an online membership program called Wealthy Affiliate.

The thing is that a lot of people will claim that the program is a scam, and I have to say that I disagree. But I understand where they are coming from, and after two years of internet marketing experiences, In understand why people fail.

The first reason is that people get distracted. When you are going to school to learn how to be a doctor, you don’t start wondering into the second month of University “hmm, maybe I should look into that whole medicine man thing. Maybe that’s really the system that works.” But that’s because you know what a doctor is and how medicines work– you’ve been dealing with them your whole life.

But very few people know how internet marketing works. It’s a whole new world for the vast majority of “newbie” marketers, and a lot of people hear about other systems that people are using, and they want to try those. So they get distracted and stop following the method that they are learning and move onto something else.

The truth is that there are a lot of different methods out there that work. But when you’re learning, it’s vitally important that you stick to one thing and see it through to the end. Otherwise it definitely won’t work for you. So that’s why I think that some people talk about the Wealthy Affiliate University Scam. They start off with it, but then they get distracted and don’t see it through, and then they claim that it doesn’t work.

Have you heard of Wealthy Affiliate, but wondered what exactly is included in the program? Well this Wealthy Affiliate Review is a brief overview of what the membership offers.

The first is training. WA features a slew of tutorials and videos on a wide variety of internet marketing and affiliate marketing techniques. From how to set up a website to how to get visitors to your website to how to write copy that will entice your visitors to buy, there is a wealth of knowledge available for both beginners and advanced marketers to learn from.

The second thing that WA offers is tools. Ever few months it seems, another tool is introduced and a lot of these tools are things which are very helpful for an internet marketer. A third thing that Wealthy Affiliate offers is community. It’s not easy to try and figure out internet marketing on your own and having a community that you can turn to for support is a very helpful thing indeed. It’s something that can really make a difference in whether you succeed or not, because you always have people you can ask for advice. There is a very active forum at WA, and it is very common for someone to post a website that they have been working on and ask for help.

How to Create a Lead Capture Page

Lead Capture Page Creation is an absolute must for anyone looking to sell a product or service online. Sometimes known as a ‘squeeze page’ they offer a very simple way to capture important information about your visitors, who hopefully will become future customers.

Creating the perfect page is not always that simple. Having an eye grabbing headline is essential to any successful page. It needs to grab their attention and make them want to read more. For example have a look at the following headlines; Make Ten Thousand Dollars While You Are Asleep. Or, Lose Weight While You Are Asleep. Both of these examples would get me a little curious and make me want to read more.

Then you need show who you are and why people should listen to you. Offer them proof as to why you are an authority in your field. One of the best ways to do this is by adding a video message to your page. Not only does this let people see who you really are, it shows them that you are sincere and will help improve your overall image with your audience.

Then you must give them a ‘sneak preview’ of what they will get if they buy your product or ‘opt-in’ to find out more information. The preview should include a little of the information you want to sell them, just not so much that they don’t feel like they need to buy it. You may want to include a few questions that they can get the answer to – if they opt-in. For example, “What are the secrets that millionaires don’t want you to know?’ Or, ‘What is the one food that will melt your fat fast?’ These types of questions give the viewer information on what they will get without actually giving away any answers.

Call to Action. This is the most important part of the whole page. You have to tell the viewer what you want them to do. A lot of people get this part completely wrong and ruin a lot of hard work they have done on the rest of the page. Be wary of asking for too much info as this can sometimes put people off.

First name and email is usually enough and will enable you to make contact with the user. Make sure you have a privacy policy clearly visible that shows how you intend to use their information.

Its important that you get the right kind of professional help with your lead capture page. You want your visitors to act quickly and unless you are proficient with this kind of marketing you need to get some help at least for the first time around.

Affiliate marketing is an increasingly popular way to promote businesses on the internet. An affiliate is rewarded for each visitor or subscriber found through their efforts. Essentially, this is the modern adaptation to the finder’s fee. No commissions are paid to the affiliate unless there is a result such as a sale, making this a great option to online marketing for the vendor.

There is also the option available for online vendors to use third party services such as Clickbank, Commission Junction or Shareasale as just a few examples to manage the affiliates and track their clicks and sales percentages. Affiliate marketing is responsible for creating a lot of new businesses from corner to corner of the globe and is expected to evolve greatly. It offers an affiliate the chance to hitch on to a company that is already well established in the online world, and it becomes a win-win situation for everybody involved. The hopeful affiliate still has to realize that the adventure has to be taken seriously.
