The new Windows 8 is said to be the first operating system that can operate on any device and the first operating system that truly integrates the kind of application code that web-based applications are built with. That ultimately also means the applications and operating system of that device. If less is needed on a device, there will be more devices that get online as we use them. You won’t have to email yourself or transfer a copy of something you wrote on your laptop, because it is not stored on your laptop.
- Internet Access.Without internet access, we will be greatly limited in what we can do. In the early days, we know our operating system is still on our device. That will change as cloud computing progresses. More applications are already internet access based, and we can expect more of that to come.
- Copyright.Copyright management will increase because companies wont have to give out a copy of their software, song or other material. We will have to pay to have access. There are many applications and other tools that were once something installed on our computer that have turned to being web-based already. This will only increase.
Windows 8 will allow users to adapt to the world of cloud computing because of the architecture of the system that allows seamless integration of web-based code to run on it. This in turn will mean more applications and content can be expected on the market soon after it. There is no avoiding the shift to cloud computing. The first steps have already been made.
