I recently received a fatal blue screen error during Windows startup with the code 0x80072F76. As I work from home I had to attempt all repairs for myself. The error code means that the registry file has been corrupted. The following repairs should be attempted in the sequence stated here based on online advice.
- Log onto Windows under a different account. This workaround will work if the registry hive is only affected for a single account.
- Start Windows in safe-mode then import an older version of the registry. This is dependent on you keeping backup copies of the registry.

It scans the file system (OS & applications) and registry for faults comparing your system to their online database of healthy, working configurations. The repair stage downloads missing/upgraded files from their server and repairs registry key errors then reboots the computer.
